Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: How long will a consultation last and what will it involve?A: The first consultation will last about an hour after which time a prescription will be made up.Subsequent appointments will be two or three weeks later and last half an hour. There may be a physical examination, and certainly a detailed medical history will be taken. Q: What does herbal medicine look like? A: It usually takes the form of a tincture (an alcoholic extract of the plant)or sometimes capsules or a tea to make up. Q: How much does it cost? A: The current charges are £36 for the first consultation and £24 for follow up consultations. The cost of the herbal medicine is usually between £6 to £8 per week. Q; How long is a course of treatment? A: For acute infections, and some other conditions just a few sessions may be necessary. More chronic or serious conditions will take much longer,in terms of months. However the gaps between visits would tend to take longer too, as a person progresses. |
