Herbal Medicine is the use of plants and trees in the treatment of imbalances and disease. Most of these are wild plants and trees that have been used in medicine for thousands of years. They are given as tablets, teas or tinctures taken internally. Tinctures are most commonly used by modern day western herbalists, and these can be made from fresh or dried plant material. The dosage ranges from a few drops to one 5ml teaspoon three times a day according to age, size and physical condition. Externally, creams, ointments or poultices might be prescribed. Herbal medicine can treat most ailments that you might visit the GP for. The speed with which benefits can be felt are often dependent on the length of time symptoms have been experienced. Some acute conditions may improve within days, whilst long term illnesses may take weeks or months to redress. Tim also uses nutritional recommendations, lifestyle changes and breathing exercises in some instances. He has an absolute love of herbs and of health and can help you to better health too. |
